Year 6 Remembrance Service 2019

On 11 November, the children and parents of year 6 gathered in the Secret Garden for a ceremony of remembrance.  The children displayed their clay poppies, inspired by the Paul Cummin display in the Tower of London in 2014 and hanging from the trees were artistic representations of the Bleuet De France. They also read the letters they had composed in the role of soldiers following our study of the book "Dear Jelly", a collection of letters from teenage boys in the war to their younger sisters.  Additionally, some children performed a range of poetry, including some that were self-composed.
