An innovation is changing the story slightly so that we get used to rewriting texts. We often paraphrase or change words (or both!) in order to do this. This allows us to keep very close to the original text.
On the PowerPoint, there is a step-by-step guide to help you through the first part of the process. This is exactly what we will be doing in class.
On the final slide, Mrs Knutt has written her version but I think she has rushed through it! It is riddled with mistakes! Can you find them all? :-)

Go through the PowerPoint to go through the next section. Use the questions to help you retell the story so far using your own words. Change the words, order and add extra information.
Take care with using speech
Remember to use
Speech marks "(bread);
Then close your speech marks "(bread).
Add the reporting clause.
