Rights Respecting School Award (RRSA)
What is the Rights Respecting School Award?
The UNICEF Rights Respecting School Award (RRSA) supports schools across the UK to embed children’s human rights in their ethos and culture. The award recognises achievement in putting the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) at the heart of a school’s practice to improve well-being and help all children realise their potential.
The award is based on principles of equality, dignity, respect, non-discrimination and participation.
RRSA at Parkfield
Becoming a Rights Respecting School has involved the children learning about the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. The children have learnt about their rights and about the importance of respecting the rights of others.
The children learn about their rights through assemblies and the curriculum. They also take part in termly themes such as Respect.
In 18th September 2019 we were delighted to achieve the RRSA Level - Bronze Award.
We are currently working towards our Silver Accreditation which we hope to achieve in the Autumn term 2020.
