Birds of Prey

Boat Tour

Beach Fun

What a thrilling fourth day!  In the morning, the children took to the sea for a tour of Caldey Island. They saw seals, guillemots and many jellyfish -- and four children spotted so many animals that they won badges! While waiting for the boats, the groups loved exploring the caves around Tenby, rockpooling, competing in a sandcastle competition and splashing in the surf.

In the afternoon, we headed to the Botannical Gardens to give a chance for the Falcon and Kestrel classes to meet... falcons, kestrels, hawks, kites and many other birds of prey.  They witnessed a display with a whole range of different birds of prey and learned not just about these magnificent creatures' biology but also about conservation efforts to reintroduce some species to Britain.  The groups then had a chance for the birds to fly into their hands and they lay down so a hawk could fly over them. The children are still buzzing!

Back to the hostel, the children have time to pack then play before dinner.  Then it will be diaries and settling down for the journey home tomorrow!
