Wednesday 13th July

The day began with the results of last night's room inspection.  The winning two rooms were able to go to breakfast first and choose their spot - including the window seat for some cafe-style dining!

For another day, we have been grateful for absolutely perfect weather - clear, warm but not too hot.  We also were able to enjoy a day of activities right on our doorstep, no more than a short walk from the centre.

We split into three different groups to accommodate all the activities.

The major activity of the day was an opportunity to try surfing.  The children first recapped their knowledge of water safety and impressed with their understanding of rip currents. Once it was time to get in, the water was calm and the waves not too steep — perfectly sized for learning to surf and several children overcame initial nerves to become really super surfers.

There was so much to do on and around Broad Haven beach as well.  We took a walk along the coastal paths, the children explored the rock pools and caves and there was a sand sculpture competition.  You can see the photos and clips below.

Now the children are getting ready for dinner with those who are faster playing a mix of sports, board games and rock painting.
