Year 2 Trip to SS Great Britain Thursday 30th January 2020

Year 2 had an amazing day out at SS Great Britain in Bristol learning more about Isambard Kingdom Brunel.

The children enjoyed participating in a ‘Victorians at Sea’ workshop. They wrote using a pen and ink, played with Victorian toys, dressed up in Victorian costumes and looked at and named a range of Victorian artefacts that would have been used on the ship.

The children also had the opportunity to look around the ship and find out how the ship was built and find out the differences between travelling as a first and a fourth class passenger from England to Australia. The children saw the captains cabin and went down underneath the ship to look at the propellers.
