This morning, we were up a little earlier to make our appointment with the boat trip. We enjoyed a hearty breakfast - cereal, toast, croissants, bacon, sausages, beans, eggs, hash browns, fruit and vegan options too. Then we headed straight on the coach for our day at Tenby.
We were able to spend ten minutes on Tenby beach before the boat arrived for our tour. The weather was perfect - warm but not too bright - and the children enjoyed boarding the boat and looking out for all the animals. In particular, we saw plenty of seals basking, all sorts of birds and although we did not see them today, the guide discussed the successful reintroduction of puffins and the children were able to enjoy the sea air. It was a super tour.
Before lunch, the children enjoyed opportunities to play some beach games - cricket, rugby, football - or to join a sand sculpture project or explore the rocks.
Then we headed into the town of Tenby allowing the children to spend their money and explore the town which was full of interesting places to explore. Immi and Mrs Lee even managed to rescue a baby squirrel!
The coach ride back was smooth and the children enjoyed some time before their evening meal of sausage and mash with mini-doughnuts (or alternatives). The children had some time to play in the grounds of the hostel and are finishing their diaries before settling down for the night. Tomorrow: water sports!
