Maths - Round to estimate and approximate 

Today's maths lesson is to round numbers to help us estimate and appoximate. Remember to watch the video first as this will help you to understand what you need to do. Then complete the sheet, either by printing it out, if you are able, or writing the answers into your workbook. For a little extra help, you may find the PowerPoint below useful too.

Today you will need to read page 10-12 of your booklet.

Task 1 – Activity 7, page 10 – Spot the underlying pattern. Read through the boxing up of the ‘Cave Elves’ text. Now think about any additional paragraphs you might include. Use the information on page 11 for some possible ideas of what you might include.

Task 2 – Activity 7 – Sort the structure – Look at the sub-headings listed in the table on page 12. They have been jumbled up; rewrite them in the order you think would give the best report.
