Christmas Riddle of the Day:  Who says, 'Oh, oh, oh!' ?

Christmas Fact of the Day:  Tinsel was invented in 1610 in Germany and was once made of real silver.

Welcome to Day 2 of our Christmas Home Learning. For this morning's Zoom meeting, don't forget to come armed with a pen and paper ready for our Christmas Quiz from the grand quiz masters 'Charlie The Christmas Master' and 'Big Brain'.  Thank you very much to Orangejuice3 for entertaining us with his riddles during yesterday's Zoom meeting!

I have set a battle on TT Rockstars between Kestrels, Falcons, Swans and Herons.  Please log on and shoot our scores rocketing towards the sky!  Let's end the year on a win wink

Additionally, the homework menu for Spring Term is now uploaded to the website - have a little look as you might want to make a headstart.

Please email me any work that you are proud of  - I would love to see it!

Today, I would like you to write a formal, persuasive letter, as Scrooge, to 'The Times of London' demanding that Christmas is cancelled.  Use your planning from yesterday and all the techniques that you have learnt to persuade such as rhetorical questions, anaphora (the repetition of a word or phrase), emotive language etc.
Remember how to set your letter out, i.e. address and date in the top right-hand corner, indent each paragraph and formally close your letter.  It will take a lot of persuasion to convince somebody to abolish Christmas - good luck!
