Thursday 25th

English:

LO: I can use conjunctions to add more detail to my sentences.

There are two types of conjunctions.

  • A co-ordinating conjunction (and, or, but) joins two simple sentences, that are as important to each other, together.
  • A sub-ordinating conjunction (because, if, when, that) is used when the second part of the sentences isn’t as important as the first bit.

Read the power point and answer the questions on each slide by choosing the most suitable conjunction to join the two sentences.

Maths:

We would like you to have a go at the time assessment sheet for the unit.

Please have a go at this sheet independently.

Once you have completed the assessment, ask an adult to mark it and then go through any questions you got wrong.

Please email your class teacher teacher on the class email address with your scores.

Good lucksmiley

Topic:

Over the next two days we would like you to work on your design and building skills by doing some junk modelling.

We would like you to build a space rocket out of junk items around your house (such as milk bottles, cardboard, egg boxes etc).

 Task:

  • Designing - Firstly we would like you to gather up some junk items and then design a rocket based on what you have got. You will need to draw your design on paper and label the various features.
  • Building - Once designed we would like you to start building your rocket. Once built you may decorate it/paint it if you wish.

Enjoy, be creative and please send us photos of your finished rocket!

Other Tasks:

Remember there is additional work in the stars for:

Times tables
Phonics
Spellings
Comprehension
Daily Reading (bug club and other online library books - see useful links section of the Year 2 home learning page)
