Monday 12th July

A huge first day for the year 6 classes - we arrived at Charterhouse in good time and split up into different activities, from meadow meandering to gorge walking to caving.  From initially being apprehensive, the cavers soon took on all the extra challenges with Heidi and William leading the way and helping people along and Wendy showing no fear at all.  On his meadow meander, Jan asked so many brilliant questions while the gorge walk group had plenty of fun making dams.

After that, there was just time for dinner (chicken curry and chocolate pudding) and then off to a night walk - or a sunset walk, as Paige with her usual poetic view of things noticed the ‘melting butter’ sunset.

The children are now settled down ready for a good night's sleep before tomorrow's adventures.
