Wednesday 13th June

We were glad we changed plans so that we could do our boat trip today.  The sea was still and the weather conditions clear and the children were thrilled not just to witness the beautiful coastline around Tenby but also wildlife around.  While not on the boat, the weather was so perfect that we took the opportunity for some beach games and rockpooling.  In the afternoon, the children split up again to visit the Reptile Centre and to enjoy the bushcraft activities and a scenic coastal walk.

For today's blog though, I will hand over to Henry who has summed up the day in the form of a poem:

Days come in all shapes and sizes
But this was different to the rest
Walks, bushcraft, beaches, boats
Right up there with the best.

First of all, we went to the beach
Built sandcastles with the sand
But it wouldn't be that long
Until we left the land.

The next thing we did was a boat trip
Seeing animals and sea
But we didn't understand
How many birds and seals there'd be.

Then, we went back to the hostel
And learned to survive in the wild
We ground out lots of things you could eat
But the numbers of which were mild.

Then we went on a long trek
A very, very hard walk
And, although it was fun, I look forward
To grabbing my knife and fork.
