Thursday 13 July

After another terrific breakfast, we set off for Picton Castle.  We saw a terrific flying show and learned many things, such as the way that the crop of a kookaburra is at its rear to allow it to balance after it has eaten.  As we toured Picton Castle we explored the maze and boardwalk, saw the botanical gardens, toured some of the exhibits (the lawnmower history exhibition was an unexpected attraction) and enjoyed the adventure playground area.  In the afternoon, the children had time to get tidied up and ready for tomorrow before a final paddle in the sea and a chance to try some beach art before dinner.
