Topic:

Today we have two tasks.

Mental Health Week

This week was mental health week.

Your mental health is very important. We need to take care of ourselves especially whilst we cannot be with all of our friends and family.

So we are celebrating mental health week in a variety of ways.

1. Through self expression:

Self-expression is about communicating your individuality. This can be through words, clothing and hairstyle, or through art forms such as writing, drawing, music and dance. Self-expression can help you to showcase your true self – your story, your thoughts, feelings and emotions.

Activity ideas

  • Dress up in any clothes, hairstyles that you want. Pick your favourite and show your style to your family. Celebrate your creative style and being yourself.
  • Pick an emotion (happy, sad, angry, frustrated, joyful) and make a dance up to express your emotion.
  • Draw a picture showing how you feel today.

2. Fun activities from the Government's activity passport for Year 2. Pick a few and try them out:

  • Dress as a superhero
  • Get soaking wet in the rain
  • Bake a cake
  • Play a board game
  • Go bird watching in your garden
  • Go for a walk to a local landmark

Internet Safety Day (Links to articles 14 and 15 from the UN rights of the child):

For 'Internet safety day' we are looking at 'digital footprint' and how the information I put online leaves a digital footprint. This allows other people to find out information about myself.

Please complete the following tasks:

  1. Read the powerpoint with a grown up
  2. Use the information on the online activity cards complete the worksheet called 'All about Penelope'.
