LO: I can locate places on a map using 4-figure grid references.

Today we are going to look at our map skills and learn how to use 4 figure grid references.  This is a little like the 'Billy the Bug' game we play at school.  When we are using 4 figure references, the first 2-digit number tells us how far to go along the map on the X-axis (left to right or east to west) and the second 2-digit number tells us how far up or down (north or south) on the Y axis on the map that we need to go.

We can remember this by the phrase, ALONG THE CORRIDOR AND UP THE STAIRS.

Watch this short video to help you using the grid references.

You may need to zoom in on the map to read the place names clearly.
