Timetable and weekly tasks

Timetable

Reading:

Please ensure you are reading at least 10 minutes a day!
This can be your school book, any fiction and non-fiction books you have at home, leaflets, instructions, recipes, comics and magazines.
Alternatively you can try some online resources (Big Cat - see useful web-based resource section on the main Year 1 Home Learning page.)

Spellings:

See the 'Spellings' word document below. Learn the spellings for your group (red/blue/green).
Also, learn two common exception words that you still find tricky.

Maths - Weekly task

Practise counting in 2s forwards from 0 to 24. Then practise counting backwards from 24 to 0.
Once you are confident counting forwards and backwards, start learning your 2 times table.
You can also have a go at the 2 times table song that was included in your home learning pack. Email the class email address if you would like another copy.

Below are some games to also practice your 2 times table.

2. https://www.topmarks.co.uk/maths-games/mental-maths-train select the 'X' carriage and then select x2

Fun Task:

This week we want you to have some animal fun!

Have a go at guessing the animal in the 'What am I?' powerpoint

Then take a look at the Fun Task drawing sheet and have a go at drawing some animals using these simple steps.

If you fancy a challenge then either

  • create your own 'What am I?' clues
  • think of another animal to draw and  create simple steps for others to follow.

Competitions:

Remember to take a look at the competitions sub page (Rainbow icon) at the top of the Year 1 Home Learning Page for the latest competitions you can enter.

Music (Optional):

Please see the below music sheet from Mrs Brickley.
Have fun with this!

Art Project (Optional)

Please see below a project for art that is taking place across some local primary schools.
