We are learning a new phoneme igh and how to read and write it.
Revisit Practise GPCs s, a, t, p, i, n, m, d, g, o, c, k, ck, e, u, r, h, b, f, f, l, ll, ss, j, v, w, x, y, z, qu, sh, ch, th, ng, ai, ee.
Sing the alphabet song – point to letters as you sing.
Introduce the phoneme igh – write 'igh' in the air and on paper.
Read and write words: high, light, night, fight, sigh, tonight, might, tight.
Read and write these questions: Is it light at night? Can fish weep? Can a fox sail? Can a rat feel pain? Will it rain tonight? Will a chick cheep?
Literacy - Goldilocks and the Three Bears
Objective: To map and speak the story

In this lesson children will create a story map. They will then use this story map to tell the story. This will help them to learn the story by heart.

Understanding of the World/PSED - Difference
Objective: To identify key features of my appearance

In this lesson, we join Miss Sidenius in identifying key features of our appearance. We will use a mirror to help us draw an accurate self portrait, thinking about the shape and size of our features. To extend this lesson, you can colour in your self portrait to match your appearance.
