Phonics - Phase 3 Letters and Sounds

 

Objective: To practise reading, writing and applying the Phase 3 sound 'ow, ear, ur, oi'.

  • Please look at Phase 3 games. 
  • Please choose the Phase 3 sound that you have just learnt when loading a game.
  • Also please practise Phase 3 High Frequency Words by playing 'Tricky Trucks'. 
  • As an extension have a go at writing some of the sounds, words and sentences that you have read from the games.

- Sing the alphabet song – point to letters as you sing.

- Read the tricky word 'are'.

- Play Sentence Substitution:

Join me in the pool – them – park – keep – coach.
This is a good shop for chips – coats – year – coffee – bad.

e.g. 

Join me in the pool. Join them in the pool. Join them in the park. Keep them in the park. Coach them in the park/Keep them in the coach.

Understanding the World - Growing (Plants)

 

Objective: Construct a beanstalk

 

In today's lesson we will combine different media in order to create a representation of a beanstalk. The three key areas of development that this lesson links to are expressive arts and design, physical development and understanding the world.

You will need a tube, plate, pipe cleaners, cotton wool, glue, tape, scissors, hole punch, coloured paper, paint and pens.
