Poetry Competition - 'Letting in the Light'

If you are looking for a further challenge, why not take part in a poetry competition set by the Somerset Literacy Network.  We would like you to write a poem on the theme of LIGHT ; a theme chosen to allow you to express feelings of hope for the future.  Poems can be in whatever style you wish but between 8 and 40 lines long.

When you have finished your poem, please hand write or type it and add illustrations if you wish and bring it into school.  We will enter it into the competition on your behalf.  All prizewinning and commended poets will be invited to an awards evening at the beautiful Dillington House near Ilminster on 5th July 2022 at 6pm where you will have the opportunity to perform your winning poem and meet acclaimed children's poet A F Harrold.

Below, you will find some poems and pictures to inspire you.

Please also keep practising your spellings (the term's spellings are linked here if you want to look at next week's!), your times tables and number bonds.
