Objective: Revise ‘ai’ sound.

  2. Read and write words containing ‘ai’: wait hail pain aim sail main tail rain bait (See Phase 3 Sound Buttons PowerPoint)
  3. Read and write sentences containing ‘ai’: I will wait for a taxi. The cat has a long tail. I sang a song in the rain.

The number friends all want to do different things today, so rocket Ten finds a clever way to do it all.

Objective: Pairs of numbers that total 10

 

Activity:

Children find different ways of making 10 using things from around the home, e.g. 10 bananas, and split into 2 groups, 8 bananas and 2 bananas. Draw this in your workbook and write a matching number sentence, 8+2=10. Repeat in different ways. How many ways can you make 10?
