Today we are learning about TRANSLATION of shapes. This is where a shape is moved, usually on a grid, to a new position. It is important to remember that the size, shape and orientation of the shape does not change - only its position. Movements are usually made with the instructions left, right, up and down. For example left 3, down 4 would mean the new position would be 3 squares left and 4 squares down from the original shape.
We do not have a White Rose video for today's lesson so I have linked you to a video by Corbett maths which will talk you through the process. Once you have watched the video, complete the WR maths tasks followed by the EXS or GDS problem solving questions.
