Friday 5th February

Maths

Today, we are going to practise comparing lengths. We'll need to use our knowledge of equivalent measurements to help us.

Remember! 10mm = 1cm, 100cm = 1m

Answer the questions on the worksheet below. You can do this either on the worksheet or in your blended learning booklets. For questions 5 and 6, you can measure anyone in your household. Don't worry if you can't find 4 people!

There is no video today.

English

We're sure that you have made a great start with writing your warning tale about trolls!

Before you continue writing, re read what you have done so far.

Does it make sense?

Have you written in the past tense?

Have you used the spelling mats to help you with tricky words?

Now, we would like you to finish writing your remaining paragraphs:

Ending

Now that you have written some great stories about trolls, we would like you to re read and edit them.

Have you remembered capital letters, full stops and commas in the correct places?

Have you used exciting 2A sentences?

Have you used a which, who, that sentence?

Have you started your sentences in different ways by using

  • I SAW A WABUB (subordinating) conjunctions
  • Preposition starters
  • Fronted adverbials?

If you are proud of your story about trolls, don't forget to send it to us to read and share with everyone else!

RE

Today is our final lesson on Judaism. Hopefully, you have enjoyed reading some of the Jewish stories and gained a wider understanding of the religion! Our final activity is based around the most holy Jewish book; the Torah

Read through the PowerPoint to find out more about your task.

Have a go at making your own yad! You can use doweling, straws, paper or anything else you can find - get creative!

Remember to send us your work so we can share it with the class!

Children's Mental Health Week

This week is Children's Mental Health Week. It is really important to understand not only how we can look after our physical health, but also our mental health. We will be looking at this again next week too.

Just as we would look after ourselves if we broke our arm, we need to look after ourselves if our mind is not feeling its best or is not making us happy. Talking about how you feel to a trusted adult is a good place to start.

You can also do something you enjoy! Try an activity from the Year 3 Activity Passport below.
