For English lessons we will be using a slightly different format than before half term. We will be using a fantastic website called Oak Academy. Here you will have lessons set by a teacher. Follow the on screen instructions to watch the videos, answer questions and complete quizzes. As always, if you are having any trouble accessing these, please send us an email to the Woodpecker or Kingfisher email address.
We will also be asking you to send in one piece of English work a week for us to look at, so watch out for which lesson this will be.
Last half term we began reading a book called The Firework Maker's Daughter by Phillip Pullman. This week we are going to continue with this text and have a focus on reading.
LO: To engage with the text.
In the lesson, we are going to engage with a new text and practise strategies for understanding unfamiliar vocabulary. The story will be available for you to read via an image or you can listen to the teacher read it. If the teacher asks you to pause the video to complete a task, please write the answers down in your workbook.
